Connect Hanwha Vision cameras to Camzify
Hanwha Vision IP cameras connect to Camzify over RTSP, so the cameras already installed can run AI detections, virtual patrol rounds and cloud recording without being replaced. Hanwha Vision, formerly Wisenet, numbers its streams as video profiles rather than main and sub streams, and keeps ONVIF switched on at all times. Hanwha itself treats RTSP as the fallback when its own API or ONVIF is not an option; for Camzify, RTSP is the direct route.
Hanwha Vision RTSP URL format
As Hanwha Vision’s own documentation gives it. Replace the parts in angle brackets with the camera’s values.
- IP camera
rtsp://<username>:<password>@<camera-ip>:<port>/profile<number>/media.smp554 is the default RTSP port and can be changed in the device's Network section. In Hanwha's VMS guidance, profile 2 is the camera's default H.264 stream and profile 3 its default H.265 stream.
- Multi-sensor camera or encoder
rtsp://<camera-ip>:<port>/<sensor>/profile2/media.smp<sensor> is the sensor (or encoder channel) number.
- Through a Hanwha NVR
rtsp://<nvr-ip>:<port>/LiveChannel/<channel>/media.smpChannels are numbered from 0. On an NVR the RTSP port is the last Device Port set on the unit: with 554–558, it is 558.
Turning on RTSP and ONVIF on a Hanwha Vision camera
Hanwha says its devices always have ONVIF enabled, so there is no switch to turn on. What it does ask is that the time, date, daylight saving time and time zone match between the camera and the system connecting to it.
For the stream itself, Hanwha's advice is to create a user account for the connection and not to give it admin rights.
Can a Hanwha Vision camera push RTMP?
Hanwha documents no native RTMP push from its cameras: its own RTMP guide relays the camera's RTSP stream through FFmpeg running on a PC. For Camzify, RTSP is the direct route. RTMP setup in Camzify.
Worth knowing before you connect
- Hanwha notes that a camera's own web page plays H.265 only up to 720p, and for one third-party playback problem its advice is to use H.264 or a lower resolution.
Adding the Hanwha Vision stream to Camzify
- 1
Check the stream plays
Open the RTSP URL above in a player such as VLC. If it plays from outside the camera’s network, Camzify can connect it directly.
- 2
Local only? Use the Connector
If the camera is only on the local network, the Camzify Connector on a Windows, macOS or Linux machine there relays it, with no port forwarding.
- 3
Add it in the console
Camera Management → Add Camera, paste the URL (or pick the relayed stream) and enter the camera’s credentials. The RTSP setup guide has the detail.
What runs on Hanwha Vision cameras once they are connected
Once the stream is in Camzify, a Hanwha Vision camera is treated exactly like any other: the brand decides nothing about which features it can use.
- Virtual patrol roundsscheduled checks of each camera against its checklist, with a report per round
- AI detectionsintrusion, loitering, tailgating, weapons, fire and smoke, slip and fall, and the rest of the 23
- Camera tampering detectionan alert when a camera is covered, moved, defocused or frozen
- Cloud recordingfootage kept off site, under a retention period set per camera
- Custom detectionsbuilt to order when the standard set does not cover what a site needs
