Connect EZVIZ cameras to Camzify
EZVIZ cameras that offer RTSP connect to Camzify over it, so they can run AI detections, virtual patrol rounds and cloud recording without being replaced. EZVIZ documents RTSP and ONVIF only in places: the stream address below, the password it uses, and a list of camera models that support ONVIF from a given firmware version. Check the model before relying on either.
EZVIZ RTSP URL format
As EZVIZ’s own documentation gives it. Replace the parts in angle brackets with the camera’s values.
- Main stream (from EZVIZ's C6N, TY1 and TY2 guide)
rtsp://admin:<verification-code>@<camera-ip>:554/ch1/mainThe verification code is the six capital letters on the device label, unless a different encryption password has been set (see below). EZVIZ documents no sub-stream path.
Turning on RTSP and ONVIF on a EZVIZ camera
EZVIZ uses one password for the stream: the one set when the device is added to an account, which serves as both the video encryption password and the login for local features including RTSP and ONVIF. It is changed in the EZVIZ app under Device > Settings > Privacy Settings > Change Encryption Password.
ONVIF is supported on the EZVIZ X5S and X5C recorders, on DVR/NVR kits such as the X4 with the latest firmware, and on a published list of camera models, including outdoor pan-tilt models such as the H8c, H8 and C8W, each from a minimum firmware version.
Can a EZVIZ camera push RTMP?
EZVIZ's documentation, as checked for this page, does not describe pushing RTMP from its cameras. Use RTSP instead; if a site needs a push, an encoder can convert the RTSP stream, as the RTMP setup guide explains. RTMP setup in Camzify.
Worth knowing before you connect
- EZVIZ's smart video doorphone supports neither RTSP nor ONVIF.
- Because one password protects both the stream and the video encryption, changing it in the EZVIZ app changes both; update it in Camzify at the same time.
Adding the EZVIZ stream to Camzify
- 1
Check the stream plays
Open the RTSP URL above in a player such as VLC. If it plays from outside the camera’s network, Camzify can connect it directly.
- 2
Local only? Use the Connector
If the camera is only on the local network, the Camzify Connector on a Windows, macOS or Linux machine there relays it, with no port forwarding.
- 3
Add it in the console
Camera Management → Add Camera, paste the URL (or pick the relayed stream) and enter the camera’s credentials. The RTSP setup guide has the detail.
What runs on EZVIZ cameras once they are connected
Once the stream is in Camzify, a EZVIZ camera is treated exactly like any other: the brand decides nothing about which features it can use.
- Virtual patrol roundsscheduled checks of each camera against its checklist, with a report per round
- AI detectionsintrusion, loitering, tailgating, weapons, fire and smoke, slip and fall, and the rest of the 23
- Camera tampering detectionan alert when a camera is covered, moved, defocused or frozen
- Cloud recordingfootage kept off site, under a retention period set per camera
- Custom detectionsbuilt to order when the standard set does not cover what a site needs
