Power over Ethernet(PoE)
Power over Ethernet, or PoE, is a way of delivering electrical power to a device over the same network cable that carries its data, so an IP camera needs one cable and no separate power supply. A PoE switch or injector supplies the power; the camera draws what it needs.
PoE is the reason IP camera installations are simpler than analog ones: one cable, terminated at a switch, powers and connects the camera. Standards define how much power a port can supply, and cameras with heaters or motors need the higher classes.
It has nothing to do with the cloud directly, but it shapes what a site already has: a PoE switch full of cameras is a set of network streams waiting to be connected to something, whether that is a recorder or a cloud service.
Camzify does not sell switches, cameras or any hardware. The cameras on a site's PoE switch connect to it as they are.
