Zone intrusion detection

Zone intrusion detection draws a polygon over an area of the camera view that should be empty and raises an alert when a tracked person or vehicle is inside it, regardless of how it entered. It suits rooms, cages, yards and rooftops, where a single line cannot cover every way in.

The zone is any shape, drawn to the physical boundary of the area. Each zone carries its own settings: what counts, people or people and vehicles, a dwell time before the alert fires, and a notification window so it is quiet in the hours the area is in use.

A camera can carry more than one zone, so a wide view over a yard and a cage can have separate rules. Because the detection fires on a confirmed track, a shadow moving across the zone is not an event.

On Camzify it is licensed as an instance per camera, and a zone found occupied is a failed check on a round with the frame kept for the report.

Frequently asked questions

Zone intrusion fires on entry; loitering detection waits and fires only when the subject stays beyond a set dwell time. Use loitering where people may pass but not linger.

Yes. The notification window per camera sets the hours in which the zone raises alerts; outside them the detection still runs but stays quiet.
