Loitering detection
Loitering detection raises an alert when a tracked person or vehicle remains inside a defined zone for longer than a dwell time you set. Someone walking through the zone does not qualify; someone who stays does, which is what separates it from zone intrusion.
The detection starts a timer for each track that enters the zone and ends it when the track leaves. A track still inside when the timer passes the threshold is the event, with the frame, the time and the elapsed dwell.
It is built for places people are allowed to cross but not to wait: a rear entrance after closing, an ATM lobby, a fence line, a car park aisle. Each zone carries its own threshold, so a vestibule and a yard can differ.
On Camzify it is licensed as an instance per camera and follows tracks from multi-object tracking; nothing in it identifies the person. It shipped in September 2026 after a period on the roadmap.
